Healthcare Construction Goes Modular

In the recent issue of Building Design and Construction Magazine, the use of modular interior construction is making a major impact in healthcare construction. In a world where the goal is high value and low cost, and yet there is a major need need for flexibility and acceptance of new technology, pre-engineered, modular solutions from patient rooms to observation units are creating spaces that are sustainable, flexible and financially make sense to hospital administrators.

The article highlights Detroit Medical Center’s recent 29 bay observation unit using DIRTT modular walls and power. It was a renovation of a 5,800 sf physiotherapy space. It featured customized headwall design using DIRTT and pre-installed medical gasses.
